Posted by Philothea` @ Sunday, September 18, 2005 | Somehow, it feels good to be blogging again. I wished for an ultra invention that can directly transfer all my tots straight to here. I typed better & much faster up there with my brain cells. Anyway, it had been a long day for me and the only horrible things I could recall is the extremely long wait for bus 912 (once you missed it, you can be sure the next 912 appearance would take about 30mins later) and the smog caused by the pungent of numberous lit candles . Alright, it is the mid autumn festival, once a year, at least its nt as bad as the hungry ghost festival. Cant blame me for having such highly sensitive and wheezy nose. Speaking about the occasion, I haf nt had a single moon cake as yet. I dont see any mooncakes at home, probably as a result of last year's trauma of an overwhelming amt of mooncakes. Anyway, I kinda miss the times of celebrations with Emme. We had alot of fun times together when we were younger.
I realised I miss Fiona Lim too though she will never know. Wynnie really resemble her, not so much of the physical appearance but the personality especially the way she speaks. Fiona is someone I would probably not forget. She may be a different person now, but she has certainly brought much joy to my Sec sch days.
CG today was great! I cant believe we played PEPSI COLA barefoot. Revive our childhood days! Lol. Everyone was enthusiatic, so it was pretty fun. WARNING! Dont play with Ben Wai! He has extremly long legs and jumps really far, swiftly. He is like the monster of this game. He shows no mercy. But if wasnt for him, I wouldnt haf such nice breakfast (: Thank God for him, xinyi and qianjin who kindly went to the Bukit Timah wadeva market to get us breakfast before coming to Serangoon. It is quite a distance, isnt it?
Oh yar, I got a new pair of Puma shoes (neutral grey + dark purple + pink colour) as an advance Christmas present from my dishy...how early and lovely! Haha. Wheee! (:
I managed to catch up with one of my old friend this week, we went for the cheap lunch deals at Cafe cartel $7.50! at cineleisure (main course + soup + 2scoops of ice-cream + usual free flow of bread),
bought a new Roxy grey cap with designs of pink&white and watched March of the Penguins!
It is a really cute show and I really like penguins now though they may seem kinda clumsy and stupid (in some ways like me) Lol. I am so fascinated with their way of living. They are such vulnerable creatures caught in an endless life cycle. I think it apply for almost all the animals. Oh wells, but penguins are really adorable! (:
Each winter, alone in the pitiless ice deserts of Antarctica, deep in the most inhospitable terrain on Earth, a truly remarkable journey takes place as it has done for millennia. Emperor penguins in their thousands abandon the deep blue security of their ocean home and clamber onto the frozen ice to begin their long journey into a region so bleak, so extreme, it supports no other wildlife at this time of year. In single file, the penguins march blinded by blizzards, buffeted by gale force winds. Resolute, indomitable, driven by the overpowering urge to reproduce, to assure the survival of the species.
Guided by instinct, by the otherworldly radiance of the Southern Cross, they head unerringly for their traditional breeding ground where - after a ritual courtship of intricate dances and delicate maneuvering, accompanied by a cacophony of ecstatic song - they will pair off into monogamous couples and mate.
The days grow shorter, the weather ever more bitter. The females remain long enough only to lay a single egg. Once this is accomplished, exhausted by weeks without nourishment, they begin their return journey across the ice-field to the fish-filled seas. The journey is hazardous, and rapacious leopard seals a predatory threat. The male emperors are left behind to guard and hatch the precious eggs, which they cradle at all times on top of their feet. Subjected to subzero temperatures and the terrible trials of the polar winter, they too face great dangers.
After two long months during which the males eat nothing, the eggs begin to hatch. Once they have emerged into their ghostly white new world, the chicks can not survive for long on their fathers' limited food reserves. If their mothers are late returning from the ocean with food, the newly-hatched young will die.
Once the families are reunited, the roles reverse, the mothers remaining with their new young while their mates head, exhausted and starved, for the sea, and food. While the adults fish, the chicks face the ever-present threat of attack by prowling giant petrels. As the weather grows warmer and the ice floes finally begin to crack and melt, the adults will repeat their arduous journey countless times, marching many hundreds of miles over some of the most treacherous territory on Earth, until the chicks are ready to take their first faltering dive into the deep blue waters of the Antarctic.

Posted by Philothea` @ Wednesday, September 14, 2005 | I realised that I am neglecting my being.
I need to take a break from all my doing,
let my heart be still before you and
listen to your voice before I get
trapped in this life cycle of living without you.
Dear God, hear the prayer of my heart
Take my heart and help me feel
Take my faith and make it real
Take my eyes and help me see
All the love surrounding me
Don't let me go
Hold me close to where you are
Don't let me go
Take my heart, Take all of me
Take my loss and take my gain
Take my trials and take my pain
Take my life and let it be
All that you would have for me

Posted by Philothea` @ Tuesday, September 13, 2005 | The rain is driving me lazy. But I reckoned to embrace my day and forgo my bed. Sufficient sleep will do. Alright, I am not very keen to get started right now. I have to draw 91.5 cm by 61.5cm picture of a submarine for aunt sandy. That would probaby occupy my next few hours before I head down to tutor YiHan.
Yesterday, I spent 5 hours at Nexus, learning frm Steven all the stuffs I need to acquire as a TC director. I was amazed that I could actually concentrate and remain attentive through out. Usually, I would blank out by the second hour when it comes to all these technical aspects. Just like I struggled to absorb all the information during the TV Pro session where we were taught all the studio's equipments, etc. especially the part about lightings. It seems more taxing to absorb all the dry technical information than to carry out the actual thing. So, I had to push myself a little to keep focus. Thank God, Steven was very willing and patient to guide me through the procedures, etc. and it gave me more confident to even perform any troubleshoot if any problems with the cable network should occur. His personal sharing also kinda 'enlightened' me. I could really tell that he is a very passionate and pastoral leader. Shuz just commented that he is a very loving husband though there is no relevance here. Haha. My homework for the day is to familiarise with Nexus floor plan and the entire MM system especially to note the switches for lights. Honestly, I am still not as enthusiatic about MM as compared to Marcom but I supposed I am making progress.
Last sunday 11 Sep 2005
Had cg at walmond's place and I was the game master. Haha. I spilt the group into two and have two person from each group to be blindfolded and seated on the sofa as you can see below.

These poor two chaps will be fed with bread by their group members who will also be blindfolded. Whichever team that manage to finish the given amount of bread first, wins! Bread is good since most of them have not taken their breakfast. Haha. At first, there were like 5 slices on the plate but I removed two slices with mercy after Shirls made a request.

Shirls feeding Daniel.
Eventually, Daniel's team won! (:
The second challenge required team work. Each team was given a slice of bread. Whichever team that manage to finish that slice of bread first, wins! Same theory. However, in this case, everyone has to take at least a bite and they are only supposed to use their mouth.

Oops! I forgot to prepare any prizes. What a horrible game master! Lol. I made them go through all that without any rewards. Wahaha. Sorry, my dear cg peeps!
Anyway, we went for breakfast / lunch after that at a near by prata place. Their service sux! The person who stood in front of the prata stall rolled his eyes instead of being friendly or approachable when we asked him to attend to our prata orders. He ought be thankful that there is business. Moreover, there were so many of us. Maybe he woke up from the wrong side of his bed that day. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the fellowship with my lovely cg and I cant stop mentioning the trauma of watching 'One more Chance', a film by Jack Neo. On saturday, part of the cg, Ian, Daniel, Walmond, Mike, Shuz, Eevoon, Gwen and I went to catch the movie at PS. Daniel had persuaded me to go, knowing that I am certainly not in favor of any Jack Neo's films. So, I tried to enjoy the movie without being such a critic. During the movie, I tot it was quite touching and I even cried. Haha. I tot maybe his films arent that bad afterall. Lo and behold!!! I nearly fainted at the ending sequence. It was so lame! Can you imagine at a sad scene where the guy was witnessing his wife being married to another guy in a church...suddenly! I meant really suddenly! Everyone in the scene just took out a yellow ribbon, smiled and waved it around! OMG! At that point, I turned to EeVoon and exclaimed thats the reason why I had insisted not to watch Jack Neo's films. He totally destroyed the movie with such a abrupt and dumb twist. It is not wrong to learn that he is a bad director, indeed.

Posted by Philothea` @ Saturday, September 10, 2005 | The korean horror film festival has just begun.
I am watching it on channel U now.
It looks quite scary. I realised a trend of the korean and japanese horror films. Somehow, they like to have crawling ghosts. The ghost just crawled out when I just started typing this post.
Anyway, I am wondering if I should get ipod nano, it's much better and smaller then ipod mini.
Yesterday's METAMPORPHOSIS event was really great!

It was a pity I arrived so late but just in time for my marcom meeting and the concert. Was stuck with irritating work before that. I was thought I could reach Nexus before lunch time. Oh wells. Anyway, the entire metamorphosis concert was simply exhilarating! I didnt know I could even get high doing the vision mixing in the MM room. Its fun to be able to carry on with what I learnt from TVPro.
I am so distracted now. Shall just go watch the horror film or go to bed soon.

Posted by Philothea` @ Tuesday, September 06, 2005 | HAPPY BIRTHDAY, himyi!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, fions!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Xinyi!
so many darlings having their birthdays this month, Im going broke!
Anyway, I finally uploaded the photos from xinyi's birthday celebration last Sat. Duno what took me so looong.
12pm, 3 Sep, my secret mission began.
Met up with Xinyi outside Subway, far east plaza.
Lets just meet for lunch was all I wrote in my sms.
Finally met up but she was shagged from mugging for her A levels the night before.
We hunted for the best chicken rice store.
I called Emme to ask if she knew which store was it.
Me: Emme, you know which is the best chicken rice store at Far East?
Emme: Erm, I am not really sure. Ah, I think it is the one with vegetables underneath and they have got the black sauce.
Me: Huh? Ok, ok. Thanks.
I was trying to make up what she was implying. Then, I saw what seems to be the answer..
Me: Eh Xin Yi, this stall got vegetables hanging below the chickens!
XinYi: Ah? ...
Me: But like got very little customers. I remember the one I used to go is usually crowded.
XinYi: Your friend said what vegetables under the chicken?
We walked around to check out if there were anymore chicken rice stalls.
I cant believe we created such a commotion over a chicken rice stall.
It took quite some time before we decided to go ahead with the stall with more customers present. We cant stop LOL-ing over the vegetables underneath the chickens thingy and black sauce. I thought every chicken rice stall will surely haf the black sauce wadeva you name it. The chicken was tender and tasty but the rice was disappointing. And there were vegetables serve on top and underneath the chickens, cucumbers I meant. Anyway, it cost us $3.80 each.
Back to the secret mission.
I grew a little impatient and blurted out everything.
It was to get her birthday gift.
I made her try on some clothes before the final decision

tada! Thats her new outfit for the day. My theory: since we bought you this new top, you got to change into it today. Haha. It was a rare occasion to see her dress like that if you actually noe wad Im talking about. Or else, it is always her shirts n jeans.
After service, we celebrated her bdae over dinner and got her a philolicious, delicious, chocoty, Swiss chocolate cake! The melted chocolate in the middle looked like the chocolate waterfall/ river found in Mr. Willy Wonka's chococalte factory! You should have seen it for yourself. Simply irresistable!

Posted by Philothea` @ Tuesday, September 06, 2005 | I'm officially having my holidays! woohoo!
Many peeps have been either complaining of their boredom or asking me to recommend them a job. I realised I am still very busy, way too busy. I don't even think almost two months of semester break is good enuff for me.
It has been quite a horrible day.
I found a nest of ANTS inside my expensive glossy packet of printing paper!!! RED ANTS! Ewwww! WTH? Why on earth would any ants choose to make a nest in between papers? Of all places in my house! How did they even make their way in there without having me to notice for weeks. I have to dump that whole packet of expensive glossy printing papers away!
Apart from that, I am freaking out from working.
I wonder why did I even agree to work for my aunt. I did not know what I have got myself into. For the entire day, I've been drawing, photocopying, colouring...it may sound simple but I do not even like to draw! I got C for my drawing fund and life drawing previously. I did not know even colouring can be so tiring! I wished I had spent my day at home instead. Nevermind. This is only a temporary job till Thursday morning.
On a brigther note, tmr will be a better day! (:
I will be meeting Valarie, my new sheepy for lunch and going down to Nexus for Metamorphosis' MM rehearsals in the evening.
I never seem to be able to put a full stop to my TO DO list. In fact, it has been fruitful and consistently mutiplying.

Posted by Philothea` @ Friday, September 02, 2005 | Let's sing,
INMA1 is over! INMA1 is oover!
I know I am kinda slow. Many pple haf probably completed theirs long ago but anyhow, at least it is my turn to shout horray! Now, I am left with LAOFI. Once I am done with it, I will be over the moon! I seriously need a break! I wanna play and get plenty of sleep! Or, take me on a holiday! Can I tag along, please? Speaking about holidays, I can already foresee a busy schedule ahead. I haf to work, work, work. Right now, I am giving tuition to 4 persons and the number will continue to increase once I hit next week. Wah, aren't I capable to open a tuition centre or sorta? You must be thinking that I would be rich. Not really, actually. My pay is not that much and most of them are china students. That explains why my chinese is improving tremedously even as I help them with their English.
A few days ago, which was not very long ago, I had a brand new cg at walmond's house whr the YS and YWAM peeps combine to form a new unit for the very first time! It was awesome! I neva had so much fun in CG for quite awhile and I started to pick up drums that night. Thanks to daniel who patiently taught a so not musically inclined and poor sense of coordination me. Now, I wished I owe a drum set. hehz. Anyway, I enjoyed playing the 'Finding Nemo' game though it can turn really violent. Crazy games are fun! (:

Here's how you play it:
Materials: A deck of cards
1.Gather a group of people and shout LETS PLAY FINDING NEMO! (if you actually that enthusiatic)
2. Get a person to throw the deck of cards into the air and shout out a specific card E.g. 7 Hearts
3. Everyone immediately search, snatch, scram, scream, grab, whatever till you finally find that card and exclaimed I HAF GOT IT! YAY!
4. That same person has to call out another specfic card
*Reapeat step 3
5. The last person to successfully obtain a card is the loser and he/she deserves a forfeit!
Note: you only haf to find a card once. So you can just sit back and relax once you haf obtain a card and dun throw any found cards back into the deck.
time for forfeit! If you are wondering what they were doing, I am lazy to explain so, go figure. Haha. They looked sick like that. I'm not supposed to be revealing this photo here. Heez. Anyway, forfeit are not supposed to be pleasant.

The pizzas arrived promptly, just as we had just ended our cg.

I felt really fat after that. Eating so much in the night and not exercising for the past week.
Alright, I shall do so over the weekends!
